We love Go Organically, in our home. Whether it be for a snack, or an After School Activity Snack, it is just as delicious. My 7 year old will eat them, like they are going out of style. My 21 year old loves them too. With Go Organically, you can’t go wrong. And, they are a healthy snack as well.

School’s back in session—and so are after-school activities! From soccer to singing to scouting, there’s certainly no shortage of kid-centric extracurricular programs where you can spend your time and hard-earned cash. But how do you know which ones are right for your kid? We’re here to help you find out!
Gauge Their Interests
The best activity for your kid is the one they’re interested in. Older kids are likely to be drawn to what their friends are trying. Toddlers and younger kids may have trouble articulating what they want to try, but there are sure to be clues to look out for. Are they constantly running around? Maybe soccer would be a good fit. Do they like to bop along to the radio in the car? Perhaps they’d appreciate a music class.
Consider Their Personality
Have a shy kid who hides behind mama when meeting new people? An acting class probably isn’t the best idea. As tempting as it can be to use activities to help break kids out of their shell, it’s best to stick with classes that align with a kid’s authentic spirit. The more comfortable they are, the more confident they’ll be—which will hopefully lead to a willingness to try new things later on.
- Individual Activities
Independent-minded kids tend to enjoy individual sports, such as gymnastics, tennis, dance or martial arts. Non-sport options could include private lessons in music or art. Benefits of these types of activities include building self-esteem, motor skills and attention/focus.
- Group Activities
Socially-minded kids often prefer the camaraderie of team sports, such as soccer, basketball or hockey. Non-sport options could include scouting troops or theater arts. These types of activities emphasize teamwork, communication and discipline.
Take Advantage of Free Trial Classes
Once you’ve narrowed down your options, see if you can “try before you buy” with a free trial class. Many program facilitators understand that kids can be finicky creatures, with a passion for tap one day and taekwondo the next. And it’s a good idea to decide as a family before the program starts whether you’ll let your kiddo quit before the session is over if they don’t enjoy it or ask them to stick it out to the end to honor their commitment.
Think About Your Schedule
How many activities are too many? Well, that depends on the family and the child. Some kids have the interest and energy to take a bunch of different classes while others may feel overscheduled and stressed. Budget and work timetables can also be a factor. Only you can know what’s right for your family, so trust your gut and enjoy the ride!

As parents, we know that instilling a love of reading in our kids is one of the most important things we can do. Reading exercises the brain, improves concentration, reduces stress, sparks imagination and even helps develop empathy. Plus, it can become a lifelong habit that provides a whole lot of FUN for your family. So in honor of #NationalBookLoversDay on August 9, we’ve put together some great tips to help parents inspire the next generation of bookworms.
Start Early
* Research shows that it’s never too early to start enjoying books with your little one. Reading aloud to your newborn is a great way to introduce words while soothing baby with the sound of your voice. Older babies will start to associate words and sounds with pictures, getting them on the path to reading right from the start. Plus cuddling up with a book is the perfect way to bond!
Ready, Set, Reward
* Try using a reading log or reward chart to encourage older kids who are starting to read on their own. Jot down the title of each book they read, or tally the number of pages and celebrate with an ice cream cone or a family picnic when they reach a predetermined total. Stickers work great, too! Some schools host reading challenges of their own, and most local libraries offer summer reading programs with a similar reward system.
Seek Out Literary Events
* Make reading part of your family’s everyday entertainment by attending kid-friendly events. Hit up story time at your local library, or go to an author signing at your neighborhood bookstore. Shop your school’s book fair together or visit a used bookstore to hunt for forgotten treasures as a family. The idea is to associate books with fun memories and quality time.
Take a Listen
* Audiobooks are gaining in popularity-and for good reason! They’re made for multitasking by allowing you to get immersed in a story while you’re otherwise occupied with household tasks like cooking or cleaning. Try an app or subscription service, or even borrow books on CD from your local library.
Follow Their Interests
* Although you might be tempted to steer your kids towards educational books, let them choose subjects that capture their imagination. By encouraging your child’s passions-whether it’s superheroes, animals or even their favorite animated character-they’ll be more likely to stick to the habit of reading and eventually expand to other subject areas.

Ecuadane has some great products, but my favorite is this beautiful blanket. My daughter is so excited to be taking this blanket to College with her. She says it’s nice and warm, and will keep her warm this winter.

Delicious Pistachio Chewy Bites are what’s for Back To School

My mom and I love the Pistachio Chewy Bites. I put mine in the fridge, and they have a great taste, even cold. You don’t have to put them in the fridge, but I take them in my lunch, so they aren’t real cold by the time I get to them. This Back To School Season, get your glasses at Readers.com. We love to shop with Readers. The glasses are high quality, but low prices. My daughter loves Readers.com. She’s in her 3rd year of college, and can’t live without them, because they fit in her budget. I love them too. I went to the Eye Doctor, found out what strength I need, then ordered from Readers.com. Their prices are so perfect. And, the Quality is amazing.
The Cinder Sun Reader are perfect for driving. You can see the road signs, from further away, then right next to the sign. I have great eye sight with these glasses on. The sunglasses keep the sun out of your eyes, while the strength you need, helps you see. These are perfect for anyone who has to commute on those sunny days.
The Fuller Sun Reader is another great sun glass. They are so cool looking, and again, you can use them on those sunny days, to see the road, etc. I love these sun glasses.
The Coffee is a very cool, sleek looking pair of glasses. I love these, and wear them every day at work, to do paperwork. They are my favorite pair of glasses, that I have ever come across. I love the metal front. And, I protect these glasses..never leave them sit on my desk, always have them on, or in my pocket.
The Scotch is my second favorite pair of glasses. These are metal, all around. They are so attractive looking, and, I use these at home, to do bills. Again, a great pair of glasses, for a cheap price.
Lastly, I received the Bifocal EVA Safety Goggles. I love these. I’m a welder/supervisor. I use these when needing to get a job done. I can see my seam so clearly with these safety goggles on. They are also comfortable, and just perfect for doing the job I need to do.

The Multipot by Mealthy is all I use in the Kitchen now

Mealthy has a wonderful Multipot, that you can slow cook, make rice, steam, pressure cook, etc. in. It’s amazing. I’ve used it every day, since I got it. My daughter, 21 year old, Sarah, loves it too. She made her Anniversary dinner, for her boyfriend, in the Multipot. She said she has to get one of these Multipots. It’s better than leading brands, in my opinion. And, you can do everything with one appliance.
Even tried using the app, and it’s amazing! There are even buttons for each thing you may want to do, including egg! You even get an insert to bake a cake, and there’s a cake button for that. My favorite button is the Yogurt Button. Let me tell you, I eat 4 yogurts a day, and that was getting pricey at the store. Now, I can make my own yogurt, and know what’s going into it.
You really have to check out all the buttons! I adore this Multipot. I knew right away that it would become one of my favorite appliances, from the get go. However, it is my favorite appliance, to date. My dad’s birthday was yesterday, so we made him a special cake in the Mealthy Multipot, and he loved it.

Dead Soxy has Dead Gorgeous No Show Socks

We love Dead Soxy, in our home. The socks are magnificent, and long lasting. I’ve washed them at least a dozen times, and they are still form fitting. They last and last. I can’t get over how well they are maintained.
My 7 year old now won’t wear anything but Dead Soxy. He loves his no shows, can’t stand socks that go up to his knees. Good thing that Dead Soxy can handle his feet. With school starting back up, these are the perfect socks for Gym Class, or everyday class.
My daughter is in her 3rd year of college, and she loves Dead Soxy, as well. She just snatched my last two pairs up yesterday. She says they are so comfortable, and wash up well.
